Chicken steak with boiled veggies

Chicken Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or rosemary)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Pound them with a meat mallet or rolling pin until they are about 1/2 inch thick. This helps the chicken cook evenly and stay tender.
Season the Chicken:
- Season both sides of each chicken breast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and dried thyme (or rosemary).
Dredge the Chicken:
- Lightly dredge the seasoned chicken breasts in flour, shaking off any excess.
Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
Make the Sauce:
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside, keeping it warm.
- In the same skillet, add chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Dijon mustard (if using). Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Serve:
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
Accompaniments:
- Serve your chicken steak with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a crisp salad.
Enjoy your homemade chicken steak!
Pork Chops

Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamy sauce)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Pork Chops:
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. This helps them sear better and get a nice crust.
- Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried thyme or rosemary.
Sear the Pork Chops:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and have reached an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Adjust cooking time depending on the thickness of the chops.
Add Garlic:
- In the last minute of cooking, add minced garlic to the skillet. Stir it around to avoid burning, and cook until fragrant.
Make the Sauce (Optional):
- Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Let the broth simmer for a few minutes to reduce slightly.
- If using, stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
Accompaniments:
- Serve with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
Enjoy your delicious and juicy pork chops!
